My oldest daughter, Rebecca ~ known as Becca to everyone but mom ~ has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for over 10 years. Our family has shared all the ups and downs of this disease with Becca. We travelled from the shock of being diagnosed at the age of 15 to the reality that she is currently working towards her doctorate to cure this disease. A cure she wants for others more than herself, so 'they' don't have to live with this disease. But if you know Becca, you realize there are so many more 'ups' with her than 'downs'.
Becca ~ our 5'2" volleyball player who even had her coach cheering 'Short People Rock'
Becca ~ our cupcake making diabetic who serves more cupcakes to guests than this non-diabetic mom does
Becca ~ our barber that literally clips a rather large chunk of hair out of dad's trim and says 'oops!'
Becca ~ our only child that had to have her sister hide her dad's genetics book at night so she would turn the light off and go to sleep (at the ripe age of 9 years old)
So, on behalf of Becca, I am asking you to consider making a donation to find the cure for this disease. We are being told the cure will happen during Becca's lifetime....we certainly hope so.
Thank you!!!
