Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
Andrew was diagnosed with T1D in June. He has proven to be a remarkably brave, responsible, & positive young man. In December, he switched from insulin shots 4+ times/day to an insulin pump that he wears 24/7. The injection site for the pump is changed every 3 days. He loves the pump & it regulates his blood sugars much better. It's been an adjustment for everyone, but we are very thankful T1D is manageable. We are also hopeful for a cure. Andrew may play a part in it someday as he wants to be a research scientist to learn how to fix the pancreas when it can't properly make insulin.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible.
Please join our team! It will be the adventure of a lifetime...as in Andrew's Adventurers!
Thank you & God bless,
Travis Grassel (Andrew's Dad)
