Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page! 

Last year our team of rebel "skywalkers" descended on downtown Des Moines to wage a battle against Type I diabetes.  This year, Devin's Force will regroup on February 16th, 2013 to continue the fight to find a cure for this dark disease.

As many of you know, Devin was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in August 2009.  Our family is so proud of how well Devin handles all the finger pricks, shots, dietary restrictions, and site changes for his insulin pump, but as parents we always have hope for a cure so this doesn't have to be a lifelong disease for him. He motivates us to do what we can to raise money for the research needed to make that happen.  "The force is strong with this one!"

Type I, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people like Devin, and JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. This organization funds more Type I diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
