Hockey Fans

Welcome to the team page for Hockey Fans! We are the Lassise/Gregan/Russett family team -- hockey fans all (Sam is the only one who has actually played the game!) and we are walking to raise money for a CURE for Type I diabetes. 

Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is an autoimmune, chronic disease that strikes young people (thus the name "juvenile") and requires insulin injections to control blood sugar.  People with this disease must constantly monitor their blood sugar, their food intake, their energy expenditure and insulin dosage --it requires a considerable effort to manage and can lead to devastating side effects if not managed well.

We are walking with, and for Sam, and the millions like him who must deal with this disease throughout their day, EVERY day.

JDRF is the best hope for finding a cure. It funds more Type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progfress along many promising paths. Please give to JDRF so that we can make the cure a reality!
