Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!  

It has been almost a year since we found out Rebecca had type 1 diabetes.  For being 12 at the time and now 13 she has and is a very strong young lady.  Rebecca braved the initial hospital stay and the learning curve with very few tears.  Rebecca has stayed active with sports and hunting.  Rebecca just received her pump in December of 2012 and we are learning all over again.  She is up for the challenge with sports too.  Rebecca's grandfather had diabetes and was taking insulin and dialysis treatments before he passed away in 2010.  Rebecca learned very much from him and how strong you need to be.  We were impressed with all of the help the doctors and JDRF gave us, the back packs with all the imformation, the starting kits were wonderful.

 We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
