Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Our daughter Saylor lives with Type 1 diabetes (T1D).  T1D, a rarer form of the chronic disease, affects more than 3 million Americans. Saylor was diagnosed at age 2 and has been living on pricks and needles every day for 4 years now.

While many people believe that insulin is a cure for diabetes, it is only a way to manage the disease and try to prevent its complications.  As Saylor's parents, we must do for her the job that her pancreas cannot.  In addition to a strict diet and exercise regimen, her daily (and nightly) routine consists of a dozen or more finger pricks and several insulin injections to steady the dangerously high and low swings in blood sugar.

That's why we are committed to JDRF, which raises funds for research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone.  Through the generosity of a wide network of family and friends, Team Saylor has been able to raise thousands of dollars for T1D research by participating in Walk to Cure Diabetes each year.

This year's Treasure Valley Walk to Cure Diabetes will kick off at 9am on Saturday, May 3rd, and we're asking for your support. Please help us to shake the disease by joining our team as a fundraiser and supporting us on Walk Day, or by supporting us with a donation. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.

Thank you for your support!
