Help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes!

Skylar's story:

Skylar was having very strange and abnormal side effects all Summer long in 2012. Some of these included random vommitting, having accidents when we were literally steps from a restroom, wetting his bed even though he had been potty trained for months at night, severe thirst and most of all a 20 pound weight loss!

He had this deathly ill look in his eyes, I called the doctor and made a appointment! As soon as I told his doctor all his symptoms she asked me "Who in our family had diabetes?" I was told to get lab work done, and to NOT leave the facility until she received the results! After waiting for 2 hours she sent me home and told me to stay close to the phone.

A couple hours later my phone rang and it was the doctor, our lifes forever chaged at this moment. I was told to get Skylar to the emergency room at the Chidren's hospital ASAP as this was a severe emergency as his blood glucose was a 697 fasting!!! A blood glucose that high can cause health issues, coma or even death!

Reason for raising money:

T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.

JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.

Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.

Thank you for your support!
