Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes personal fundraising page!

I'm joining this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the life of my son Kyler and the lives of millions of other people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D.

T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.

JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.

Just to share a little bit of our story.  Our son, Kyler was diagnosed in 2011 with T1 at the age of seven.  It came as a real shock to our family as we have no family history of T1 at all.  My son is now ten and is on a insulin pump that delivers a jolt of insulin every five minutes to his body much like a human pancreas would.  We feel SO blessed and thank God everyday for the work of JDRF and other organizations that have worked so hard to further the medical advancement of T1.  Years ago, T1 would have been a death sentence.  Today, my son and millions of others can and do live pretty normal lives with T1.  We have to check his blood sugars numerous times in a day and make sure that he is getting his insulin.  He used to have to get 5-7 injections every single day.  Now, because of medical advancements, Kyler has 1 shot every three days to insert his pump that delivers the insulin that he needs.

Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.

Thank you for your support!
