Join us in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!  This foundation has a special place in my heart.  As you may know, my 14 month old son, Bryce, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just 10 days after his first birthday.  Since then, his life has become anything but normal.

Because of this disease, he gets his blood glucose checked 6-12 times per day, every carb he consumes must be counted and corrected for with insulin, he wears an insulin pump (connected with a needle every other day) to deliver the insulin he needs to stay alive, he wears a continuous glucose monitor (another LARGE needle inserted once a week) that helps us watch his blood sugar throughout the day, he has to wake up 1-3 times per night when his sugar is low to have a syringe of maple syrup sprayed in his mouth, and every moment of our life is spent worrying about our precious boy.

I am asking for your support.  Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts.  By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes, including our sweet boy.

Did you know that:

  • T1D is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly and strikes both children and adults at any age?
  • T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle?
  • Those living with T1D must carefully balance insulin doses with eating and daily activities throughout the day and night?
  • Those living with T1D must test their blood sugar by pricking their fingers for blood 6 or more times a day?
  • At this time there is NO CURE.

As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D.  JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered.  Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?

Thank you for your support!
