Hello Family and Friends,
Most of you know that our son, Harry, was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in January of 2009. While this was a shock to our family, the past 3.5 years have been about learning about Harry's condition and managing his health every single day.
Harry is doing well - managing his insulin pump and trying to eat healthy, balanced meals. He's been successful in decreasing his school day absences this year and we are very proud of him.
This year will mark our 4rd JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Last year we raised $5350 and this year we hope to top $6,000. Each year we appreciate everyone who joins us in walking or helps us by raising or donating money. Remember, we don't want YOUR money, we want your to help us RAISE MONEY!
Our theme this year is 8 for $10. This is based on the typical amount of times in one day that Harry has to poke his finger for a blood glucose reading. Eight to 10 times a day is average. Your job is to keep a Walk Donation form in your car/pocket/purse/backpack and ask 8 friends, family member, neighbors or co-workers to donate $10 so that JDRF can find a cure someday and Harry can stop poking.
Thanks and see you on October 14 at Montrose (NEW LOCATION) and the Lakefront.
