Dear Friends and Family,
We learned in March of this year that Tyler has Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), otherwise known as Juvenile Diabetes. Initially, it was very difficult news for our family. We were overwhelmed with the life style changes and the knowledge of how difficult and life threatening this disease is. We have learned many lessons, grown stronger as a family and are more determined than ever to help find a cure. We will be participating in the annual Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, October 14th. Tyler's team is called the "Shot Busters."
Tyler would love to have some friends walk with us. If you're able to join us, please register at Shot_Busters or contact us at 312-505-1969 or email@example.com. Alternatively, any donations (small or large) are sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to attend but would like to support us, please send a check payable to JDRF to Melanie Turner, 6330 N Paulina St, Chicago, IL 60660 or donate online at Shot_Busters.
The Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes will be along the lake front at W. Montrose Ave. and Simonds Drive. Check in starts at 8:30 and the walk starts at 9:30. We will take a team picture at 9:30 and then start the 3 mile walk. After the walk, a light lunch will be provided and there will be countless attractions for the children to enjoy including inflatable jumpers, face painting, games and the Jesse White Tumblers.
