I have lived as an Insulin dependent diabetic for almost 6 years now. Fortunately, I have been blessed with the knowledge and resources to handle my diagnosis with relative ease. However, most of the 3 million people living with Type 1 Juvenile diabetes aren't as lucky. The daily battle with this disease provides another element of stress to a person's life. Many people that know me probably don't realize how stressful living with diabetes can be because as I said I've been very fortunate thus far in managing it. Between checking blood sugar, taking shots and making sure all your supplies are ALWAYS with you it can be extremely overwhelming when trying to balance everything else in life. I'm organizing another walk team this year to continue the fight against type 1 diabetes and to help fund research that will discover innovations for managing this complicated disease.

The walk takes place on Sunday October 6th on the Montrose Harbor lakefront at 9:30 am (come before the Bears game if you have tickets). If you are available, please join me for a Sunday stroll along the lake in support of diabetics everywhere. We will be getting together after the walk to watch the Bears take on the Saints. If you are unable to walk, please take a moment to donate to this worthy cause and help me spread the word about Juvenile Diabetes. It doesn't end with you!
Feel comfortable knowing your donation is going to a worthy cause as JDRF was highlighted by Forbes Magazine as 1 of 5 All-Star Charities!
Thank you for your support!
