Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes team page!
My brother has type 1 diabetes, and I have seen many of the struggles that my family has faced, and thoroughly understand the problems that the other three million Americans who carry the disease drag with them. I have a great respect for my mother and all other care takers who have to constantly keep an eye out. Diabetes never takes a rest and neither should our search for the cure!
We have chosen to make a team this year, named Team Brilliant, after our family, as part of the Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes in order to help the cause and raise awareness for the millions of people affected with T-1 diabetes.
JDRF, Juvinial Diabete Research Foundation, was founded in 1970 and the organization has raised over 1.7 million dollars for diabetes research. Consequently, JDRF has paved the road to a cure for T-1 diabetes. Though so much has been improved, so much more is yet to be discovered. Slowly but surely!
Our goal: We want to not only raise as much money as possible, but we also strive to inspire others to also take leadership by spreading the word about our team. We feel that it is vital for people to understand the full concept of what type one diabetes is and to help find a cure.
Please join Team Brilliant and make a donation if you can to our team.
Thank you for your support!

• Approximately 85 percent of people living with T1D are adults, and 15 percent of people living with T1D are children.
• The prevalence of T1D in Americans under age 20 rose by 23 percent between 2001 and 2009.
