Hey friends and family:
Thanks for taking a minute to stop by my page. I can't believe it's been 13 years since my Dad and I decided to start participating in the walk. At the time, it was something that I could do with my Dad to support those afflicted with diabetes and to help find the cure. Many of you know, that my big motivator to do this year over year is because diabetes runs through my family (including my Dad) and I really want to find the cure to help them and the millions of others that face this.
People that face this. Everyday it seems like I meet someone else that is facing diabetes. It is clearly a growing concern and has no boundaries...it afflicts children, adolescents and adults. This year alone my cousin (same age) and an old roommate have come to find that they now must live their lives with diabetes.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments. Giant steps are being made and we are closer than ever to finding a cure.
Whether it is for my Dad, my cousin, my roomate, your cousin, your family member, or friend of a friend. It is time to charge forward. Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Every year scientists make great strides toward discovering the cure using the money that we raise though this walk. A cure is in sight so won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Please keep in mind no gift is too small or too LARGE.
Thanks to everyone for your support.
