This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country on Sunday, October 6th, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
Let's keep Ron Santo's vision for a cure foremost in our hearts and within our grasp. Unfortunately, Ron lost his battle to cancer, after his life-long struggles with this debilitating disease took it's toll on his body. His memory and "Pass10n" lives on in all of our hearts. The many lives he touched throughout his life, 50-years in Major League Baseball, and his association with JDRF are immeasurable! Let us all give back to the man who gave so much! We love and miss you, Ronnie! You will always be "Our Perfect 10"!
Your dream of finally reaching the Baseball HOF came true posthumously, and we must do our best now to move forward to Walk and find the Cure for Diabetes in your memory!
Thank you and God Bless You,
