For those of you who supported me last year, you know how much I love my dear friend Danae's daughter, Olivia. Olivia is still the most amazing 11 year old I know! (12 by the time the walk comes up!) And I'm still supporting JDRF in the hopes that I can raise some money to make Olivia's life just a little bit easier while living with Type 1 Diabetes. (Or better yet - find a cure so that she doesn't have to live with it!!!)
What you may not know is that my first encounter with Type 1 Diabetes was actually with my very first best friend - Aimee Kamper. (We were pretty much inseperable until I moved from California in the 2nd grade!) While I was too little to understand exactly what Diabetes was, I did know that Aimee had to have a lot of shots, and that she didn't get to go on as many play dates as other kids because of these shots. (My mom didn't have a problem giving her the shots - so I remember having her over a lot!) Through the "powers" of facebook, Aimee and I have recently reconnected - and I'm so happy that Aimee is doing very well, and still managing to live life to it's fullest, despite having T1D!
On behalf of Olivia, Aimee, and everyone living with T1D, I'm once again asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
