When did I last eat? What did I eat? When did I last dose? What did I dose? How long will I be outside? Do I have glucose? Do I have a snack? What is my blood sugar number? Am I in range?
These questions are what Kylie and Tyler ask themselves every time they want to do anything... Stop-Think-Test-Think is what children with T1 diabetes go through every day. They make the disease look easy. They don't appear sick. They run around and play like every child. The difference is that kids with T1 diabetes always have to be THINKING... each and every moment of their day. They are insulin dependent. They have to carry their "Kits" of life saving tools everywhere they go.
Currently, there is no cure!
The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will go directly to support this life-changing research.
The JDRF Walk is a fantastic way to make a difference in the millions of lives of people affected by type 1 diabetes. For at least that one day, they will look around and see all the support they have from their friends, family and community. On Walk Day, everyone can have fun and celebrate how much closer to a cure we are because of their efforts.
Each member of our team is already hard at work in their fundraising. If you have taken time to visit our team page today, we ask that you consider making a donation or joining our team.
