Welcome family and friends to my JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes personal fundraising page!
This is my 9th year participating in the walk and my 10th year living with type 1 diabetes. The advances they are making towards finding a cure are exciting and promising and it is all due to the fundraising we do to keep the research going. Living with type 1 diabetes is not easy but knowing how hard researchers are working on finding a cure keeps me going and motivated to take care of myself because one day this disease will hopefully all be in my past. Not only are they working on a cure but also how to prevent the disease entirely.
Once again, I'm joining the Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D (type 1 diabetes).
T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.
JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.
Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.
Thank you for your support!
