Dear Family and Friends,
This is the 13th year Sara's SuperStars will be walking in the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Walk for the Cure.
We are so proud of Sara; she has just started 9th grade (High School). She has amazing artistic talent. It is so great to watch her grow into a responsible young lady. She is fortunate to have many caring friends in her life.
It's hard to believe that we have been fighting the daily battle with Diabetes for over 13 years. I call it a "daily battle" because you never know what challenges each day will bring. There is no easy fix or perfect formula to make it all better. We have learned over the years to try our best to take it in stride and let our faith lead us through the tough times.
The worst part as a decision maker for your child's health is the guilt. We have watched Sara suffer with highs... from not giving her enough insulin to extreme lows from giving her too much insulin. It is such a delicate balance and so easy to fail. We would give anything to make that stop. The technology and research advancements have been amazing and we have come so far with treatment options over these 13 years and we have the JDRF to thank for their work in research.
We chose a simple but powerful message for our Team Shirts this year. We think this says it all... I DREAM of a day with no diabetes. I BELIEVE we are winning this battle. I HOPE it will be soon. I WALK for a CURE.
Please help all the kids that have to fight this daily battle by donating to the JDRF.
With all our Love and Blessings,
Renee, Chris, Sara & Evan
