Well it's that time again! Summer is winding down which means back to school and gearing up for the 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes.
Alexis as grown so much since being diagnosed at age 4, she is going into 3rd grade, advancing in gymnastics and even having sleep overs! (Scary for mom but fun for Lex) All of these bring new challenges to the life of our little T1D.
This summer has been one of her most fun! It also has presented challenges for us. Gymnastics Camp meant a week at camp with no nurse. Our little 8 year old was resonsible and the coaches were fantastic, I will never feel as scared to leave her there without a parent again. Although, I won't do it often!
Gymanstics camp may have made the Top 10 list this summer I won't attempt to sort the order of 2-10 so many fun things! Florida, Beaches, Camp, Taylor Swift, Sleepovers -so many choices! What is Number 1....that's easy! Boston Children's Hopsital made Alexis summer before school was even out. She cried, she laughed, she jumped for joy....she has renewed hope. Please read the article in the following link, this is why we walk. Boston Children's is so close please help them keep moving. Soon Alexis' hope will be reality and there WILL be a cure for Diabetes.
Thank you for your donation and your commitment to helping cure diabetes. Please consider joining us for the walk the day is inspirational!
