Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! This will be my first year participating in this event. I came to learn about Diabetes as my daughter was diagnosed in January of this year. Rachel has just recently turned 12 but to say our lives have been turned upside down is an understatement. This disease affects the entire family and makes you aware of the small things you used to take for granted such as grocery shopping, eating dinner, daily activities, and you might as well say everything.
I remember thinking as they told me in the hospital that she had diabetes, that at least they did not say she had cancer. Those of you who are parents and even if your not, imagine the thought of having to give someone you love shots every day and watching them pick their finger at least 4-6 times a day. This is your new life. I would say that it most definitely falls under the category of things you don't want to do but have to do since it is now the difference between life and death.
So, I decided to walk and hopefully raise a little bit of money to put towards them trying to find a cure and I will continue to do this until God tells me differently. So you know what that means, I am asking for your support. No amount is too small as they all come together to do wonderful things. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Rachel and I thank you for your support!
