Thanks for checking out my JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
I know, I'm always hitting you up for something. But here you are, back again, reading my request and deciding to contribute. Thank you for your continual support. I couldn't do anything without each of you.
One of the greatest women in my life, whom I have loved, admired, and annoyed since my first breath, has type 1 diabetes. My big sister, Suzanne, developed T1D later in life. She can rock that pump (insulin) in any outfit and is usually "winning" her hand held device but it's those bad days that break my heart. I know how tough and strong my sister is but this is one game I wish she didn't have to play every single day for the rest of her life.
This is my first year participating in the walk and raising funds for the millions affected by T1D but most of all, I AM IN THIS FOR MY BIG SIS! The money raised will help JDRF fund critical research to hopefully cure T1D.
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin - a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there currently is no cure. But what if we could change that?!
JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.
Whether its $5 or $500, every last donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is appreciated, tax-deductible and goes a long way.
Just think - one donation could be equal to one night out to dinner, one movie with a friend, or your morning coffee. Save a life instead...
Mark your calendars and join me for these JDRF fundraising events:
--> Tuesday, August 27th at Leo's in Livonia on Schoolcraft & Middlebelt from 5 - 8 pm, (10% of sales + tips fund JDRF). HUGE Thank you to Leo's Coney Island, everyone that helped, ordered carry out, and/or attended the event!
--> 8/27/13 thru 8/31/13, Five Below on Middlebelt in Livonia donated 10% of sales (with provided coupon) to JDRF - Team Frazier. Due to the last minute nature of this fundraiser, we did not have as great of results as we would've like but every penny counts. It was great of Five Below to set this up for us. Thank you to Five Below, everyone that shared the coupons, and shopped to raise funds for the cause. The final tally from Five Below was $4.87 contributed toward JDRF.
--> Sunday, September 15th at my house, Pampered Chef Sale (20% of sales funded JDRF) bringing in an extra $230. Thank you for all the wonderful orders!
Thank you for your support!
P.S. Suz, please don't be embarrassed that I made you my focus. You are one of the most important people in my life. You are my reason. I love you.
