My five and a half year old nephew Tucker was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of eight months. He went from having at least four shots a day, to getting an insulin pump. Although it is not a cure it makes eating when he wants and correcting high blood sugars a lot easier. Doctors, and Scientists have been working for a long time to find a cure for this disease. Unfortunately a cure has not been found yet. Without a cure if you do not know someone with T1D yet you likely will. Whether it be a friend, family member, or you! People are getting diagnosed with T1D at all ages everyday.
Help us put an end to this disease that not only controls people's lives everyday, but also has debiliting long term health effects. Donate to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). With JDRF 80 percent of donations go to research for a cure. On September 7th we will be walking to raise money. The money that I raise under my name will be matched up to $1,000 by my employer, Trans Canada. Please make a donation of any amount under my name, and support us in finding a cure. Thank you!
