Hello everyone, once again this year my family, friends and myself will be walking in honor of my sister Kimmy at the annual JDRF Walk for a Cure for type 1 Diabetes taking place on February 23rd at the Mall of America. Many of you know the passion Kimmy had for this walk in her youth and we are trying to continue on the tradition.
We would LOVE to have you join our team - Kim's Gift and walk with us on what is always an exhilirating day for all involved. It makes you realize just how lucky we are not to have to take 3, 4, or even 5 shots a day in addition to checking your glucose levels multiple times, or even just having to slow down your everyday life due to this dreadful disease.
Kimmy was diagnosed with T1D at a very young age. To see all the faces of the many young children on the day of the walk and know what the road ahead holds for them is heartbreaking! We MUST help find a cure! Thats why we ask again this year that you help support us to help support our youth - OUR FUTURE!
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
So, LET's WALK! Put on your orange shirt (Kimmy's fav color) , tennis shoes and come join us on the 23rd! It really is more of a stroll around the Mall if you will. Please feel free to support anyone on my team or the team itself. Thank you again for your continued support and for your efforts in finding a cure.
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
