Hi family and friends.  Thanks so much for coming to my walk page again. Saturday Feb. 23rd will be my 6th year walking at the Walk To Cure Diabetes.  I was bummed to hear that my out of town hockey tournament is the same weekend as my walk.  I'm committed to my team but also very committed to my walk and finding a Cure!  I plan to walk again this year and then join my team up in Brainerd after the walk.  6 is my favorite number, my birthday & my hockey jersey #.  Maybe, just maybe it will be my lucky year that they find a cure! It has been almost 7 years since Cassie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  In that time, we have watched her strive to live a normal life, despite the constant demands of the disease.  Cassie rarely ever complains, and she continues to inspire us daily with her courage and positive attitude.  Throughout it all, Cassie's dream is to "just be like all the other kids".  She's very athletic & her favorite sports are hockey & soccer.  She's playing again on a Roseville 10U girls team, which she absolutely loves & also plays on a North Suburban traveling soccer team. 

In an effort to raise money to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes, and to encourage and support Cassie, we formed "Cassie's Crew" and we continue to be amazed at the support we have received from family and friends.  For the 6th year in a row, we will again be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes.  Our family believes strongly that supporting JDRF is the best way we can work towards finding that cure for Cassie and so many others like her.  You can either donate online by clicking on the link above ("Donate to Cassie") or by sending a check made out to JDRF to our home address.  Thank you for supporting our family in our efforts to find a cure.
