Hello! As many of you already know our daughter, Ahna, was diagnosed on September 25th of this year with type 1 diabetes. We continue to learn every day about this disease. Ahna is doing well and learning to do her own blood glucose checks and calculate her insulin for meals and snacks. We are very proud of Ahna. She is so strong and so smart. We do, however, pray for a cure for Ahna and for all the other children and adults affected by this disease.
So, as a family we decided to try to help find a cure. We will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality! If you would like to be a part of our team and help raise more funds as well as walk with us, we would love that. Just click on the link and join our team!
Thank you very much!
