Hi everyone, thank you so much for coming to my page and viewing everything on here! I really want to share my story with you, and i hope it helps you understand why it is so important to me to raise money and help as much as i can to find a cure!
7 years ago on August 5th i was brought into the hopital by my parents and brother. I had lost a significant amount of weight, and was acting out of character. My eyes were sunken in, and i as my mom trys to explain it "you looked like a skeleton." My dad brought me into the room while my mom and brother parked the car. By the time my mom walked into the hospital room, they had hooked me up to numerous iv's and had already diagnosed me with Type 1 diabeties. My blood sugar was in the 900's, which the nurses had said that was one of the highest blood sugars they had ever seen anyone come in with. I was so severly dehydrated. The nurses told my parents if they would have waited a few more hours to bring me in, i was close to death. North transfered me to Childrens Hospital, where they specialize in treating diabetics. I was entered into ICU there for about a full day and a half.. I do not remember much of my stay in ICU, but i hear i was blessed enough to have a lot of family members come to visit me. After Being in ICU, my numbers started to stabalize, and i was becoming a little stronger each day. They put me in a different hospital room, where my mom stayed by my side day and night, helping me through a never ending process. Nurses surrounded me all day, hooking me up to different tubes, and trying to get me to eat. I remember that food sounded so good, but i just couldnt seem to eat anything. I lived off of pickles a lot of the days, it was the only thing that sounded good. I stayed in my regular hospital room for three days. All in all i was at Childrens for about four full days. Those four days were four days that changed my life forever. This story could go on for so much longer, and i could get into so many more details. But i hope what i have told you, has shown you why i need to make a difference in finding a cure. This disease has changed my life in every way possible, and has impacted my life so much that I want you to all understand where i am coming from.
I always say "i have this disease, and i can let it change me in two ways.. For the good or bad" "i have chosen to embrace it, and im ready to let me sparkle make an impact on it"
