Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $94 million.
Hi. I am Ellen Cerny. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on November 21, 2005. I have been fighting Type One Diabetes for 7 years. I would love for you to join my team and help me raise money to find a cure for diabetes! Along with being a Senior in High School comes many responsibilities of taking care of myself. I am required to test a minimum of 5 times a day. When I test my blood sugar I enter it into my pump. Most of you are probably wondering what a pump is. It is a little machine that is connected to my body through a little port which gets changed every three days. I love my pump so much because it is less of a hassle and I do not have to take 5-6 shots a day with my pump I just need to press a few buttons and boom insulin is delivered. On February 23 2013 my family, my friends, and I will be participating in the Walk To Cure Diabetes 2013 at the Mall of America. Even if you can't participate at the actual walk you could still help out and be a virtual walker.
Thanks, Ellen Cerny.
