Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $94 million.
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
My son, Carson, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 2 days after his 6th birthday. What a way to spend your birthday with 3 days in the hospital right? His diagnosis has really changed our lives, obviously more so his than anyone else. Carson's diabetes needs constant attention. To stay alive, people with type 1 diabetes must take multiple insulin injections daily or continually infuse insulin through a pump. Each day, everyday, for the rest of Carson's life he will have to careully monitor food and insulin intake, as well as exercise to maintain a careful balance and avoid high or low blood sugar reactions that can be life-limiting or life threatening.
I am asking for your support to either join our team at the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes or just simply make a personal donation.
Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
