I'm participating in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes!

Welcome to our personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes "Team Logan" fundraising page! This year, we'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $94 million.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.

Hi Everyone!

It's time for the Walk again February 22 at 8 am at mall of America. Last year was our 2nd walk and we want to thank all of you who contributed. Team Paige and Logan was a huge success!

A special thank you to all of you who got up so early and came out to walk with us!!

This year unfortunetley we cannot participate at the walk because Paige has a mandatory dance competition in Iowa that day. So instead of walking for a cure she'll be dancing for a cure! But we are looking for team members who will still go to the mall and walk for the team.

I can't tell you how much the walk meant to Paige and Logan. It means so much to them and us to see how much their friends and family love them and support them. This walk is not only on one day in February but everyday for them for the rest of their lives.

Logan is doing great he has a pump which has cut his injections down from 6-7 injections per day to 1 injection every 3 days. What an amazing blessing that is! It makes him feel almost normal. He's such a trooper he never complains.

Paige is doing really good. The first few months were tough. She battled depression over it. We thank God and her BFF Jenna who really helped her through it. She still doesn't like to talk about or tell anyone about it. She sneaks off somewhere to give herself a shot. She calls needles those pocky things. She has not totally embraced this change but she's getting there. I'm so proud of her and Logan. They are my super heros!

I know most people still think that with diabetes you take a pill or have a shot or even maybe they will grow out of it. But that's not the case at all with type 1 diabetes. It's checking your blood sugar every 3-4 hours. Measuring everything you eat and then taking a shot with it. Making sure when your going to gym class or going out to play that your blood sugar is high enough so that it doesn't go low because a bad low can kill you.

It's Rob and i make sure their blood sugar is good when they go to bed. And if it's not we sett the alarm to wake up and poke them in the middle of the night. And the first thing in the morning we make sure they're still breathing and that they've made it through the night. The constant stress and fear as a parent never goes away it's all day everyday.

So Paige and Logan need your donations so that we can find a cure for diabetes and end injections forever!  Of course we would love to have you at the walk with us but if you can't attend don't worry we'll be happy to do the walking for you. Thank you so much for donation and all of your support. We couldn't do it without all of you!

God Bless you,

Paige, Logan, Shari, and Rob Kruger
