Max's Superheroes

Welcome to Max's Superheroes!  We are excited to be involved in our 10th Walk to Cure Diabetes.  Yes, we have achieved a "decade of diabetes" and are starting to see the benefits of 10 years of research and 10 years of growing up.  Max still tests his blood sugar 8 times a day, counts his carbohydrates, and we still set our alarm for the middle of the night.  What has changed is the technology and most notably the "apps" for looking up carb counts at restaurants, and the ability for him to text us when he is out on the town.  We are keeping our spirits high and hope to once again raise $10,000 for JDRF.  Updates from the past year include:

• Max is 5 feet 4 inches - and growing!
• Max texts us blood sugars from basketball practice, Twins games, and ski slopes
• Sleeps over at a friends house--- thanks Cabarellos!
• Texts us from home when we are out on the town - and he is babysitting for Madie and Jack!
• Broke two pumps in 2012  - (Thank you Medtronic for your warranty program)

We ask you once again to support Max's journey with type 1 diabetes with a donation to JDRF.  We know there will be a cure in his lifetime it is just a question of when.  Funding of this research will have a direct impact on his life...it already has with the technology we use today to help manage his blood sugars.
