Welcome to Stephanie Koller's Personal Page

Hi Everyone,

Back on July 17th 1996, I like every other child preparing for middle school had a doctor appointment to have my big 6th grade physical. Before this physical I was playing soccer and fastpitch softball, my two favorite sports. I didn't fully understand what my body was really going through. I had lost a lot of weight, completely dehydrated, fatigue and going to the bathroom about every two mins. To me, I thought I was just really thirsty all the time and that lead to using the restroom. It was that July 17th day that I was told I had Type One Diabetes. In a split second my world had changed. I was not sure what to expect for my health.  With many appointments and classes over those next few weeks we learned what diabetes was. Without my parents hard work and dedication to this change I would not be where I am today.

My life with diabetes has its ups and downs, there are good days and there are bad days. This last year for me has been a harder year then in the past, but I still have not given up. I'm currently using an insulin pump to help manage my diabetes. I also wear a blood glucose monitor device that helps me understand where my blood sugars are on a daily bases.

I along with many friends and family will be taking part in the Walk to Cure Diabetes at the Mall of America on February 22nd 2014. The walk starts at 8am.  If you would like to join our team and walk please feel free by joining on the web site, JDRF.ORG, You can also make a donation towards diabetes as well. Anything and any support is much appreciated.

Diabetes is a growing disease. Lets do what we can to help stop it!!

Love Stephanie

Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.

Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.

There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
