Dear Friends and Family,
This year my family will be participating in The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to Find a Cure for Diabetes. It's our 6th walk -- that's how long William has had diabetes (over 1/3 of his life). It's my turn to write to all of you and ask for your support in helping our cause, it's the least I can do.
My brother lives with diabetes all day, every day. He pokes his finger to check his sugars multiple times a day and injects himself with insulin. (That requires needles. Who likes needles? They're awful!) William has to count the carbs of everything he eats so that he makes sure to get the right amount of insulin to keep his blood sugar at a good level.
The money our walk team raises will go directly to support life-changing research. The walk is a fantastic way to make a difference to millions of lives of people affected by diabetes, including my brother. Now more than ever EACH of us can make a real difference and help keep my brother strong, confident, funny, and brave as he lives with this disease.
Did you know that:
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes and one closest to me, my brother Will.
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you,
Alex Edwards
