Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Did you know that more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes each year in the United States? That's approximately 80 people per day!
Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that occurs suddenly and affects both children and adults. Nothing can be done to prevent the onset of T1D and there currently is no cure for this devastating disease. People with T1D are at risk for many complications including heart disease, neuropathy, kidney disease, and blindness. Managing type 1 diabetes requires a balance of monitoring blood sugars, eating right, exercising, and injecting the correct dose of insulin. People living with T1D depend on insulin to keep them alive, but finding a cure depends on everyone!
I am asking for your support. Please donate to the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. By doing so, you can help make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
