We will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, to raise money towards a cure in honor of our son Bryson. We are taking the steps to help achieve JDRF's mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will go directly to support this life-changing research.
Bryson is 6 years old and was diagnosed November 9, 2011. This has changed not only his life but our whole family's lives. What it means to Bryson to find a cure.. " To be my old self again".
Bryson has been on the insulin pump for a year and a half now. While it has it's benefits, it also has it's challenges. To not have shots during the day makes it worth it over all. He is a tough guy, and never complains about it.
Our goals in participating in the walk are:
Show our love and support for loved ones with Type 1 diabetes. (We love you Bryson!)
Raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes.
Raise money to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
The JDRF Walk is a fantastic way to make a difference in the millions of lives of people affected by type 1 diabetes. We are asking for your support. Now more than ever, EACH of us can make a real difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes.
