Double Trouble

We are so excited that you will be joining us for the walk this Saturday.  I wanted to get some details to you in preparation for the walk.

If you walked with us last year, please wear your "Double Trouble" navy walk t-shirts.  For those of you who are new this year, I will have shirts for you at the walk to wear. 

We will be meeting in front of the Oakley store on the first level (N107).  Oakley is on the North side of the mall, near Nordstroms.  We will do a group photo at 7:45 a.m. and walk at 8:00 am.  Come as early as you would like and take a walk around to the different vendors.  There are usually granola bars, bananas, water, etc. that they hand out to people.  A good place to stop by is the vendor area in front of Sears.

Our team will walk 1-2 laps and then will go have bagels, fruit, yogurt, etc. We will either be at the tables just inside Nickelodeon Universe in the center of the south side of the mall, or will be one level just below the south food court where there are tables and chairs for over-flow food court seating (where we were last year).  These areas are first come, first serve, so we will see where we end up!  Hopefully we will all be able to stick together while we are walking, but it can be difficult to do so since there are so many people.  If you get seperated from us, I will have my cell with me:  952-334-4436.  Phil's cell: is 612-685-3852.

2013 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes 

Walk Day 101.  What do I do?  Where do I go? 

IMPORTANT TIMES: 

7:00  MOA doors open!  Donation drop off areas, Vendor, Kids Fun Zone, food and T-Shirt areas are open.  Pre-walk festivities in the Rotunda (1st floor, East side) 

8:00  Listen for the Horns! 

Walk begins? no set distance but walk for one hour.   

          (Suggest one lap around each level) 

 9:00  Program begins in the Rotunda (1st floor, East side) 

WHERE DO I TURN IN MY MONEY? 

Walkers who have donations to turn in should take it to any Donation Collection Area.  Walkers who raised $100 (online or 

collected donations) should stop by the Donation Collection Area and pick up a t-shirt ticket to be redeemed for a Walk t-shirt. 

DONATION COLLECTION AREAS: 

 East side:   1st, 2nd & 3rd floor entrance halls 

 West side:  1st, 2nd, 3rd floor entrance halls 

JDRF PIGGY BANK COLLECTIONS: 

Persons with piggy banks should turn them into the Piggy Donation Area in the Rotunda, adjacent to the stage.  They 

should not be turned in at the regular donation collection areas. 

WHAT IF I HAVE MONEY TO TURN IN AFTER THE WALK?  Walkers can pick up a pre-addressed JDRF mailing envelope at 

one of the Donation Collection areas or at the JDRF booth to send the money in to the JDRF MinnDakotas office. 

WHERE DO I GET T-SHIRTS & FOOD? 

The food & T-shirt distribution areas are on the FIRST floor in the MACYS and NORDSTROM courts, and NEW this year, 2nd floor 

of the Southeast Ct (formerly Bloomingdales).  T-shirts are given to those walkers who raise $100 and get a ticket from the 

Donation Collection area.  Food is available until 8 am and T-shirts until 9 am.   

WHAT FOOD WILL BE SERVED?  A light continental breakfast including granola bars, bananas, trail mix, water & coffee will 

be served. 

HOW CAN I FIND MY TEAM MEETING LOCATION? 

Information Volunteers can look this up by knowing either the Team Name or the Captain?s last name.  

WHERE IS THE JDRF Kids Fun Zone? 

Located in West Market 1st floor, as you enter Nickelodeon Universe.  Fun music, dancing & games from 7:00-10:00 a.m. Get a 

CRAZY ?do? from our friends at Kids? Hair, visit with Nickelodeon characters, & get a tattoo at the Tattoo station!  Photo Op: 

Get your photo taken on the JDRF ?blue carpet?! 

WHERE CAN I GET JDRF OR DIABETES INFO?  The JDRF booth (NEW LOCATION THIS YEAR) is located in the Southeast Ct 

(formerly Bloomingdale Ct) 

WHERE ARE THE DIABETES VENDORS LOCATED?  The vendor area is located in Sears Court, 1st floor (Northeast corner). 

WHERE IS THE JDRF ?STORE? LOCATED? NEW this YEAR!  The JDRF ?Store? is located in the Southeast Ct (formerly 

Bloomingdale Ct) where, for a donation, walkers can purchase JDRF branded items.  The store will be open until 10:00. 

WHERE IS THE PROGRAM?  The program will begin at 9:00 am in the Rotunda, located on the East side, viewable on levels 

1-4 and will last approximately ½ hour.
