Okay peeps I need your help, and by help I mean put on your walking shoes and/or open your wallets. As you may or may not know my mom has Type 1 Diabetes. She was diagnosed when she was 3. She has gone through more physical challenges than I can even begin to share-but while we're here let's short list it: -Triple Heart Bypass-check
-Laser eye surgeries (30 in total so far)-check
-Shots at least three times a day-check
-Sticking her finger at least five or more times a day to test her blood sugar-check
-And let's not forget chugging carrot juice as a kid because it was thought to be a potential cure, thus thwarting me from eating cooked carrots as a child Okay, that gets at some of it. I think it suffices to say that finding a way to end these types of health issues would benefit a lot of people, approximately 25.8 million people inthe United States alone who are living with Type 1 Diabetes.
I decided to not only walk, but also have the honor of being a board member of the St. Louis chapter of JDRF. So I'm asking you, my family and friends, to join me on October 7th in Forest Park or virtually to help support research to end Diabetes. To sweeten the pot, if you join Team Sigma-Aldrich or my team and contribute $25 you'll get a pretty sweet Team Sigma-Aldrich t-shirt, and for every $25 more you donate I'll get you another t-shirt for a family member or whoever else you'd like to outfit with Team Sigma-Aldrich gear. Our campaign theme this year is Change Starts Here and it's something that I fully believe-change starts here by giving to a great organization to do more life changing research. So now that I've put you through my dog and pony show it's time to sign-up. Don't worry, if you don't do it today I will be more than happy to follow-up/stalk/annoy you until we've got this all buttoned up
Thanks for your support!
