Welcome to the 2013 Sanders Family JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!  

Warren and I are registered for the 2013 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Hickory this year.  The Walk draws people together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause.  At the same time, it raises money to improve the lives of every person affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.

In the last year or so, both Warren and I have transitioned to the insulin pump as a more accurate and convenient mechanism for delivering insulin.  The pump and it's sister technology, the continuous glucose monitoring system, allow he and I to enjoy better health and greater freedom than ever before.  It's these types of advances that are directly attributable to the research that JDRF supports.

Our 'Sanders Family' team has walked either at Carowinds in Charlotte or in Hickory at Lenoir-Ryne college for 3 of the last 4 years.  This year's Walk takes place on April 20, 2013, and I'm writing to ask for your support.
