Welcome to my JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes personal fundraising page!
My 16 yr old stepdaughter Courtney was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Oct. 29th, 2013. She has come so far in this short amount of time and my husband James and I are so proud of her. We will be creating a team Courtney for the JDRF walk this October 2014 in Winston Salem, but right now Courtney and I have met so many wonderful people through the JDRF that we decided to do the High Point walk with them. Please donate what you can, all of the research this foundation does will one day in the future benefit our Courtney.
I'm joining this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D.
T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.
JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.
Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.
Thank you for your support!
