This year, for the 5th year in a row, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.
I am walking in memory of my father, James Mondzak. He truly was a fighter and will always be my hero, but unfortunately, he lost his battle with diabetes in September 2009. I miss him more each and everyday but by participating in this walk it lets me know that I am doing all that I can by helping to find a cure to this devastating disease and keep his memory alive.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
