Welcome to Jazzzy's Journey's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
Well it seems like forever since Jazzy was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on October 13th 2010. She remains brittle and unstable to this day along with T1D she also suffers from Gastroparesis( delay in her food digestion, which makes her blood sugars unstabled because the insulin absorbs in her system hours before her food.),ADHD, seizure disorder, depression, and seperation anxiety. She is taking so much medication. It breaks my heart as a parent and nurse that I can not take her pain away and watch her suffer everyday and their is nothing I can do. That is why we do these walks evey year and write to our congressmen to help the FDA approve our clinical trials to help find a cure for this horrible disease that affects millions. We are asking for help in any possible way to help us work on finding a cure. So we can help those affected even if it's one child at a time.
We need walkers for our Wildwood Boardwalk Walk For A Cure in May 2014. We are also looking for any size monitery and/or items for our silent auctions at our fundraisers. School walks are great for everyone involved, the kids have a orientation about diabetes and they get rewarded for the donations they collect of $10 or more, and the schools benefit by being rewarded with 10% of the total donations. We also do Corporate walks the generous support of our corporate partners and their employees helps make our walks a successful. If interested in any type of support for our team contact me any time @ Lbadie69@comcast.net or Jazzysjourney99@comcast.net Any help is greatly appeciated.
We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.
We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D.
Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? All we need you to do is click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It’s simple, fast, and fun!
Jasmine recieved her insulin pump in the mail on Dec. 2nd 2013. We are waiting for the supply company to come out and train us. Jaz is getting on step closer to a cure.
Thank you for your support, and we’ll see you on Walk day!
