Insulin Junkies

I am team Captian Alycia  and on May 18 we are walking to cure diabetes. My little sister Jocelyn was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in early May last year. Please support her and everyone else that was diagnosed in donating and/or walking to find a cure.

Jocelyn was diagnosed her junior year in high school. She is now a senior  and she gets fairly good grades. She is involved in the musical and plays in the highschool band as a percussionist. She is also involved in the community bands around Cape May. Jocelyn has come such a long way when she was admitted to the hospital that very first day. She spent 3 days at Cooper Hospital before she was released due to high blood sugars. When I got the call from our mom, I was worried beyond words because I did not know much on the topic of diabetes. I did not know if it was life threatening but my mom kept me up to date with the progress she was making. I have learned so much from my sister.  She went from learning to inject insulin into herself to getting the pump and making it look so easy. It has been a rough year and I am so proud of her and would never in a million years thought that she would be a Type One Diabetic. Because she is such a wonderful person and a caring loving sister, I am walking on May 18 on the Wildwood Boardwalk to support the cure for diabetes.
