Welcome to our Harper's Heroes JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes team page!
Harper is not just another statistic. She is a daughter. A granddaughter. A sister. A niece. A cousin and a friend. She is innocent and she has Type I diabetes. The money we raise as a team goes directly to fund research to create life-changing cures for people like her. Harper was diagnosed with Type I diabetes 1 year, 5 months and 16 days ago..and counting. With your help we can stop counting.
We're taking steps to help JDRF progressively remove the impact of type 1 diabetes (T1D) from people's lives until no one has to fear developing this disease. By joining our Walk to Cure Diabetes team and making a donation to JDRF, you'll raise money to help fund critical research and create a world without T1D.
Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin. It strikes suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.
The challenge we've set for ourselves to raise money for JDRF and to walk is modest compared to the daily challenges of life with T1D, which involves a 24/7, unrelenting cycle of blood sugar testing and insulin injections to manage the disease.
Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us?
Join us on Sunday October 6, 2013 at 10 am at UNR for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes and invite a friend (you don't have to raise any money or make a donation in order to walk with us)
Just click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and start fundraising.
Forward this email to all of your friends to help us spread the word.
Thank you for your support, and we'll see you on Walk day!
P.S. OUR THEME IS MOUSTACHES! IF YOU HAVE ANY 'STACHE ACCESSORIES- WEAR THEM!!
