Hello, Team Twilight! Some of you are new to the JDRF Walk and some of you may be veterans. Whichever you may be, I can't stress enough how important this cause is and what a great deed you are doing by being a part of raising money for research to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
Last year, the average walker raised about $175 a piece, so I encourage all of you to set your individual goals at that amount and then, if possible, try to exceed it. We have 4 months to raise money for the walk and I want to surpass what we raised last year as a Team, which was nearly $1,200 with only 7 members!
Depending on where you work, many employers are willing to match what you raise. As an added incentive, you can approach your employer and inform them that for a $250 donation, they will get a custom sign that will be posted on the walk trail that will promote their business as a Proud Sponsor of the JDRF Walk. Great advertisement! Also, after you raise $100, you automatically qualify for a JDRF t-shirt.
The other great thing about this year's walk is they have moved to a different location and are doing it at the uptown SUNY campus. A nice change of scenery!
Thank you again for registering as part of Team Twilight and best of luck in raising donations! Let's Rock!
