Welcome to Trish's Personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
On October 6, 2013 I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
In June 2007, my life was forever altered when I was diagnosed with this life-threatening illness. It has since been a daily, weekly and sometimes minute to minute struggle to manage. I hope that this I am so blessed that I have a wonderful support system to lean on when I am not at my finest, but not everyone has that support system.
The scarest part about having Type 1 diabetes is the unknown - will I develop complications like going blind, nerve damage, or stroke, will I pass this onto my children someday, will I live to see my 50th birthday. These thoughts are always looming in the back of my mind because the answer is no one knows. I am hoping to change that by taking a stand or rather a walk for a cure!
Please support me and donate to my Walk fundraising campaign. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible today?
Thank you for your support!
