Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on October 28, 2012, the day before Hurricane Sandy hit NY. I spent 4 days at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital learning how to care for diabetes.
Diabetes is really tough because you must take insulin every time you eat. When I was on injections,, I had to take 4 shots a day. In February I switched to an insulin pump. The insulin pump is better because you only get one injection every 3 days plus you can eat whenever you want without an injection each time. The insulin pump makes me feel more like every other kid - I can run, swim, play baseball and soccer all with my pump.
Did you know
I am walking because I would like to raise money for research to cure diabetes.
