Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year’s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). TID know diabetes never goes away-unless you are a 5 year old with diabetes like my brother Jack. He thinks he will grow out of it one day.
My name is Emma and I know how this disease effects a child and family with diabetes-how do I know--my amazing little 5 year old brother is a type 1 diabetic. Even though I am only 8, I see how Jack has to get his blood sugars checked 15 times a day, gets his insulin pump site changed 4 times a week, and how every minute of everyday my parents AND I worry about Jack and his blood sugars. I help my mommy with Jack's care, I ask Jack if he feels low or high and get mommy to take his blood sugar (actually sometimes I take it too.). I am the most amazing big sister and love my brother more than anything.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes, but especially my little brother. I really want a cure for Jack because ever time Jack cries with his site changes, I can not help but cry too. It breaks my heart to see what my brother has to go through-I try to be strong and not cry.....but sometimes I can not help it. When jack begs mommy not to change his site and starts crying, I hide in my room and cry. I do not want Jack to see me cry.....it upsets the whole family.
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
