To Our Dear Woman's Club Members,
We are writing to ask for your support in a very special cause.
For the 5th consecutive year, The Woman's Club of White Plains will be taking part in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes as part of Team Amanda. On May 1, 2003, Amanda Stagg, daughter of 14 year Woman’s Club member, Theresa Stagg, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 3, which means she will be insulin-dependent for the rest of her life until a cure is found. Diabetes is something she will not outgrow! Insulin is merely life support until a cure is found. Our goal is to raise at least $2,500 to fund research for better treatments and a cure for Type 1 diabetes and its complications.
We are asking you to help support our fundraising efforts by participating in the Walk to Cure Diabetes by walking with us on Sunday, October 6th at 10:00 AM at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway (Registration at 9AM). Even if you cannot walk that day, we also ask you to support JDRF and Team Amanda with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will help make a difference in the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes. It is faster and easier than ever to donate. Simply follow this link to donate online http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/WPWomansClubAmanda.
If you prefer, you can mail your gift check to Theresa Stagg at 2 Alyssa Lane, Purchase, NY 10577. Please make the check out to JDRF and include Team Amanda in the “Memo” section. Please also see if your employer has a matching gift program as well and double your donation. http://www.matchinggift.com/jdrf/. Please forward this letter to family, friends and colleagues to see if they will support you as well.
Any amount, great or small, helps JDRF get closer to its goal of finding better treatments and a cure for Type 1 diabetes. We greatly appreciate your support toward this very worthwhile charity and will keep you posted on our progress.
