As you may know, six years ago our son Michael was diagnosed with type 1 juvenile diabetes when he was 12 years old. That year we participated in our first walk to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(JDRF).
This fall Michael left for college, and we are pleased that he is doing well. When we packed him up to live in the dorm, there was one extra box that we had to pack for him that most kids dont have to take with them. ......insulin and diabetes supplies.
Many people believe that insulin is a cure, but it is not. We are committed to JDRF, the leading global organization focused on research and funding the global movement to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D).
This year Michael's brother, Andrew is taking over as the captain of TEAM SHAW.
The walk takes place on October 14, 2012 and I'm writing to you for your support. Please join our team and ask your friends to sponsor you, or please sponsor eitgher Andrew or me with a donation. It's simple, fast and fun! Please visit out team or personal page to get started.
Thanks for your support!
