Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million. My team goal is $2500.00.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. I have had the disease since I was 16 months old. Daily injections of insulin, testing blood glucose, watching number of carbs eaten, watching amount of physical activity and the amount of stress in my life are just a few things that I have to do on a daily basis to keep my disease in check.Imagine having to do this for your child at the age of 16 months old. This is what my parents had to do for me while I was growing up.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible, even if it is only $5, $10? ALL OF IT HELPS!!!
Together, we can make the cure a reality!
